February Technical Meeting – OSHA Enforcement of the Crystalline Silica Standard for Construction

It has been a little over one year since OSHA began enforcing the crystalline silica dust standard for construction.  We are beginning to see details about enforcement trends.  During this presentation we’ll discuss key parts of the OSHA standard and where we are seeing most OSHA citations being issued.  We’ll review common errors in exposure monitoring, Table 1 controls not being fully and completely utilized, common problems with written exposure control plans, and role of the competent person in implementing the plan.
