November Technical Meeting – Making Safety Training More Engaging

  •  November 14, 2018
     9:00 am - 10:30 am

The LI Chapter is pleased to announce November’s Technical Meeting on November 14th at the Melville Marriott at 9am.

Creating engaging training can be difficult even for experienced trainers. This is especially true for compliance or safety training. Trainers who conduct safety or compliance training know the value of their training, but it can be challenging to communicate this value to employees who may not fully grasp its importance. In this session, Dr. Sy Islam will discuss how to make safety or compliance training more engaging for the learners using a data driven approach.

During this session, participants will learn the following:

1) Attendees will learn to align safety training content with instructional techniques to maximize learner engagement

2) Attendees will learn how to use needs assessment results to create a learning environment that will increase training transfer

3) Attendees will learn how to use needs assessment results to identify preferred learning methods of trainees

4) Attendees will learn how to use post-session feedback to develop more engaging training.
